Tobias Döring studied at the University of Kent at Canterbury, UK (M.A. in Modern Literature, 1990), and the FU Berlin where he also completed his doctorate (1999) and Habilitation (2004). From 1995 to 2004 he taught in the English Department of the FU Berlin, in 2004/05 briefly at the University of Münster, before he joined the Department for English and American Studies at the LMU München.
